Cemetary design

We were approached to design a cemetery along Leopard Hill road in Lusaka. The concept was to house the main chapel and services centrally and then provide a few detached covered spaces within the graveyard to cater for services closer to the graves. As such, our design proposed a circular enclosure that contained the administration, chapel and services buildings. From there a winding road curved through the memorial park, undulating and creating a journey that is immersed in the serenity of the place and avoids long views of road and asphalt. It also provides breaks in the route through these detached covered spaces in the form of raised pyramids that serve as field chapels.

Memorial park design

The overall design has blended well in the landscape and the integration of the existing vegetation have enhanced the peace of the memorial park.
